T-Deck Plus is a way better machine in all aspects and it shouldn't. Tried to reach out to support but my issue remains, the store asked for my twenty days review and here it is, it's standing on top of a desk without use.
Thank you for taking the time to leave your review and for your patience as we looked into this for you.
We sincerely apologize that your initial experience with the device did not meet expectations and for any frustration caused during the support process. Providing a smooth experience is our top priority, and we appreciate you pushing us to do better.
Our technical team has now completed its investigation and, as you've seen, we have just sent a detailed follow-up email to you with our findings and a concrete solution to get your device working properly.
The goal of our 'twenty days review' request is precisely to catch and resolve complex issues like this one. We are committed to ensuring the product doesn't just 'stand on top of a desk,' but functions as intended for your projects.
Please check your inbox (and spam folder) for our email. We are confident we can resolve this and hope to have the opportunity to restore your faith in our support. If you have any further questions, please reply directly to that email.
Thank you again for your feedback.
I never received my order and customer service isn’t doing anything about it!
Hi Kenneth,
Thank you for your feedback.
We have reviewed our communication and confirmed the correct address with you yesterday to arrange a second delivery attempt.
We will continue to track your parcel until it is successfully delivered to you.
Thank you for your patience, and have a good day.
T-Deck Pro
I only bought a single device, after the disaster of buying a pair of T5 S3, but fortunately I don't regret buying this one (or buying the pager).
Nice size, screen, feel, appearance, build quality seems good too.
Better on the internal antenna than the plus.
Things that need changing for next version:
No backlight for screen (or maybe it is just difficult to program).
No physical off switch.
Reset button needs a five second delay. (Keeps resetting when in a pocket)
Battery runs out too quickly (maybe firmware)
Time lost on reset (maybe firmware)
Needs a thumb wheel.
Option for no GSM would be nice too.
Hi Jes,
Thank you for your detailed and honest feedback.
We are sorry if the T5 Epaper S3 Pro fell short of your expectations. You're welcome to try the latest firmware below—it may help improve performance:

We also truly appreciate the constructive suggestions you shared regarding the T-Deck Pro.
Some of the points you mentioned are already being addressed in our ongoing development work.
Below is a point-by-point response to your ideas:
1). We are currently developing the T-Deck Pro Max model, which will come with a backlit screen and integrate both voice functionality and 4G connectivity into a single device.
2). The Pro Max will share the same case as the current Pro model. We are also looking into improving key sensitivity to prevent accidental triggers. Regarding the power switch functionality, our factory firmware includes low-power usage examples—Sleep Mode (low-power mode, consuming around 300 μA) and Shipping Mode (full power-off). We recommend using Sleep Mode to extend battery life during regular use, and Shipping Mode only when the device will not be used for an extended period.
3.) Regarding the short battery life: If you are using Meshtastic or Meshcore firmware, please note that the GPS is enabled by default, which likely contributes to higher power consumption. We will relay this feedback to the respective development communities to help optimize power efficiency in future updates.
4.) The time reset issue may also be related to the nature of e-paper displays. Since the screen uses an SPI interface, its refresh rate is inherently slower, which can affect real-time updates.
5.) Given the refresh rate limitations of e-paper screens, we are concerned that a thumb wheel—which typically requires quick visual feedback—may result in a poor user experience. What are your thoughts on this?
6.) For your reference, we do offer a PCM5102 audio version of the T-Deck Pro, which does not include 4G/GSM functionality.
Thank you again for your thoughtful input and support. We are continuously working to improve our products, and feedback like yours is incredibly helpful.
Let us know if you have any further questions or ideas!
0. There's a keyboard it barely uses relying unreliable screen presses and tap, to which is may or may not respond and given the latency, you'll have to wait a while to find out.
1. The UI is unreliable and worsened by the eInk screen.
2. The battery seems completely useless, it's difficult to determine when charging is required, when it is complete, or how long it lasts.
3. Best thing I've learned about Meshtastic and LoRa:
"It’s not plug-and-play. It’s developer-maintained hobbyware, and it shows."
