Cool product, bad experience

I like the product however a few days after getting it the screen developed permanent lines along the y axis in the middle of the screen. I tried reaching out to customer support to ask about this and see if it could be fixed or if I could either exchange or return the product but I never got a reply back. I also would have liked to know that a GPS version was planned ahead of time as I would have otherwise waited to get that version. Other than that its a good product and I look forward to seeing what you are going to offer in the future

Hi Sir, thank you for your feedback, after reading your message we checked our mailbox again and we found your email in the spam folder of our sales team “sales@lilygo.cc”, sorry it was blocked, we will contact you soon, also, as a friendly reminder, if you have any questions in the future, please send us an email at “orders@lilygo.cc”, so we can help you out faster. Regarding the product, we have actually prepared two versions, and we will still sell the version without GPS, thank you for your trust in LILYGO, please rest assured that our support team will give you a satisfactory solution.

great for a Lora remote

I am making some Lora remotes with this unit, adding just 5 push buttons and a battery.
The epaper is used verically providing labels for the buttons, and displaying feedback. The buttons exit low power mode and send Lora, then wait for an answer. The github repository provides working examples w/ PlatformIO, for Lora, display, low power. Just an initial problem as I was flashing, but the default firmware was still there. Solved connecting the device w/ boot button pressed, this way windows 10 recognises the correct COM port, if ok you shoud find "USB/Jtag serial debug unit" under Universal Serial Bus devices in Device Manager.
Lowered epaper refresh timings in GxEPD library.
Now I need to design and print a 3D case!

Amazing form factor with minor problems

This is the device I have been waiting for, it has almost everything you need.

It's a bummer that a week after its release it turns out that development has been discontinued and a new version is coming out that solves some of the problems.

Problems:
- Requires Qi2 chargers, older including MagSafe are not starting charge
- Screen develops few death lines after 2-3 weeks of refreshes

Overall, I recommend waiting for the second version.

Hi sir, thank you for your feedback.
Regarding the version update, it is actually just a different way to drive the ink screen, and an optional GPS function is added, and other functions remain unchanged.
Regarding the charger and screen issues, we will send you an email to further understand whether we can help you solve the problem.
